One day out of 180 into the MSN Strategy Lab, and I've already received my first rude email. Telling me, in no uncertain terms, that I am not quite as smart as Homer Simpson. D'oh!
And the ego is already bruised from Lebo's karaoke on Friday night. I performed, quite masterfully I might add, "O.P.P." by Naughty By Nature to a bored, resentful crowd of 300+. 600+ plus eyes glaring at me as I tried to trip through 4-1/2 minutes of fast-paced RAP while wearing the same cream-colored turtleneck as a 55-year-old woman in the audience, who kept coming up to me and calling me "twin."
So I thought? Eh. This crowd, who favors Tim McGraw to Nelly, just isn't feeling the hip-pop tonight. But four songs later, when Kelly and I sang "Baby Got Back?" Crowd. Went. Wild. Huh? My friend SS hypothesized that it's because "O.P.P." deals with the taboo of infidelity, and therefore is frowned upon. Objectifying womens' posteriors, though? Perfectly awesome.
