I didn't realize it was possible to be so diametrically opposed to the same exact song. The chorus of Blue October's "Into the Ocean" is a trippy, spirited Dream-Academy-meets-Modest-Mouse 20 seconds of music that gets my shoulders shimmying and my toes tapping. The verse sounds like Jame Gumb singing Roxy Music from prison, and it makes me want to beat my head against the wall. It keeps spinning on Slacker.com, and I grit my teeth through the first verse until the chorus reminds me why I like it. And back and forth again. Quite a journey for four minutes and one second.

The song of which I speak.
